Purlll. is a passion project— something I created with my favorite design buddies, Alyssa Leven & Trevor Erpelding.

I took on the creative direction, building out the brand identity, social media campaign, and website, as well as setting up a gallery exhibition for the senior Graphic Design show.

Alyssa is my co-founder, contributing by creating juicy blue cyanotype prints and designing, the cyanotypes being central to Purlll.’s color palette and brand identity.

Trevor is a 3D blender artist, who helped us render our logo and all of the 3D components and product mockups.

MANIFESTO

In every heartbeat of creation lies a story— your ‘Purlll.’

‘Purlll.’ is a magazine concept where the vibrant, the bold,

and the nuanced come alive.

Here, design is more than art; it’s a journey of self-discovery, a celebration of authenticity, and a bridge to collaborate and connect deeply with ourselves and others.

We are the oyster, design is our Purlll. (we love to knit & purl)

We invite you to find your ‘Purlll.’ and let it guide you to a realm where creation is an act of love, where every moment is an opportunity to be unapologetically you.

Leading up to the launch, we have been building tension

by posting Purlll. flyers around campus, and kickstarting the social media campaign months in advanced.

Purlll. is also selling merchandising and prints at the University Center Art Market April 9th, 10th, & 11th.

Hand-knitted Purlll. bows, 3D printed keychains, & stickers, all coming with their own cyanotype pledge to honor your authentic self while wearing yours.

20% of all profits from Purlll. Magazine Art Market will be donated to True Colors United

a Nonprofit organization focusing on innovate solutions for homelessness by focusing on LGBTQ+ & BIPOC Youth.

Purlll. has also been posting sneak peaks from the first three spreads— using our platform to tell other’s stories, and letting the brand promote itself by a means of friends sharing IG “stories” to support one another— branching out to everyone’s personal networks slowly.

Purlll. will continue this strategy, with the intention of interviewing many more in the future.

Not only to grow the brand, but as an opportunity for myself to connect and collaborate in a way I wouldn’t normally be able to.

Check out some of our sneak peaks so far!
